First Friday at Downtown Las Vegas’ Arts District

Spring is on its way and you know what that means… No, not the squelching Las Vegas heat. It means that First Friday in Downtown Las Vegas’ Arts District is almost here.

Get to Know First Friday

First Friday is one of the largest arts and culture festivals in the Western United States. Since its inception in 2002, it has become a cultural phenomenon for Las Vegas residents and visitors. There are hundreds of artists including, painters, sculptors, photographers, jewelers, performance artists, and more.

Want to know our favorite locations to hit up? It starts with the Las Vegas Arts District.

Some of our favorite First Friday artists:first friday mural

Bad Art Inc.

If you’re looking for pop art that looks like Vegas style came to life, Bad Art is perfect for you. If Andy Warhol had the influence of Downtown Las Vegas culture with a splash of satire, he would be Bad Art Inc. Check out their website to get a sneak peek of what to expect when you visit their booth in April.

Blake Byers

Featured in March, Blake Byers did live painting. With an Instagram filled with proof of a creative mind, Blake seems to live his life surrounded by art. First Friday is the best place in Downtown Las Vegas to experience authentic and talented artists like Blake.

Don’t Miss First Friday in April

The Downtown Las Vegas Arts District holds this free family-friendly event from 6 to 11 p.m. on the first Friday of every month. For the most part, there’s an abundance of art to feast your eyes on as you walk from building to building and through the streets of the Arts District. However, this isn’t the only feast to be had.

The Arts District is home to some of Downtown Las Vegas’ best restaurants as well as First Friday food trucks that come out to feed the patrons. The thirsty will also find refuge in this oasis of art. The Downtown Las Vegas Arts District has plenty of bars serving up unique liquid libations, craft beers, and more.

You can expect several bands and performances during this five-hour festival. If you’re lucky, you might even get the chance to catch a street magician or members of Cirque Du Soleil doing a juggling performance.

Will We See You This First Friday?

Whether you’re going for the art, the great food, or the drinks, First Friday offers a great change of pace from the Las Vegas nightlife scene without getting too far off the map. Don’t miss next month’s event. Spring is the best time to experience the art, food, drinks, and music in Las Vegas. And a trip with Vegas Pub Crawler is a great way to end the night. The cool spring evenings will make you wish every Friday was First Friday.
