Commonwealth

Over the last few years, Commonwealth has proven to be one of the hottest Downtown Las Vegas bars. The pre-prohibition themed bar has a unique personality that has become a popular meeting place for tourists and locals to mingle.

Commonwealth is a 6,000 square foot cocktail bar where the art and architecture collide with the pre-prohibition era of the Roaring 20s. There are actually three separate bars at the Commonwealth, each with their own character. As you walk in through the entrance, you are greeted by the main bar area. This area is adorned with chandeliers and a bird statue adorning the back wall behind the bar. There are tables and seating to provide patrons with a relaxed place to sit and converse with one another.

A quick walk upstairs past various pieces of Prohibition era artwork transplants guests to an outdoor rooftop garden bar. The rooftop area is much more electric in personality when compared to the more low-key downstairs bar and comes complete with a staging area for a DJ. The rooftop bar features seating along the edge giving its patrons a great view of Downtown Las Vegas.

The third bar at Commonwealth is more of a private lounge area and is a little bit harder to find. Affectionately known as “The Laundry Room,” this third bar is a private speakeasy, keeping to the theme of the Prohibition-era establishment. Reservations for this secret room need to be made in advance and the rest of the instructions will be given to you after that. Without giving away too much, it’s a nice, secluded lounge area that is perfect for a fun time with good friends or an intimate evening with someone special.
